A Phase 3, Randomized, Observer-blinded, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of mRNA-1403, a Study Vaccine to Prevent Norovirus Acute Gastroenteritis in Adults 18 Years of Age and Older
The study will involve a total of 7 visits to our clinic (located in Guelph, Ontario) and 6 remote phone calls over a 25 month period. Reasonable compensation is provided for time and efforts participating in the study.
Norovirus is the leading cause of acute gastroenteritis globally, marked by sudden nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Additional symptoms can include abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, and chills. You would receive the vaccine (mRNA-1403) or placebo as part of participation in the study. This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the investigational vaccine in preventing acute gastroenteritis caused by Norovirus.
You may be eligible if you:
Are 18 years of age or older
Are considered medically stable
DO NOT have chronic gastrointestinal conditions causing frequent vomiting or diarrhea
Have not had any changes to medications in the last 60 days

Participation will include:
- 7 visits to our clinic (located in Guelph, ON) + 6 remote phone calls
- Receiving the study product in the form of a vaccine
- Blood draw at each visit
- Daily eDiary completion for 7 days
- Weekly eDiary completion for remainder of study
