Postbiotic Oral Health Study (ADM)

A Study Evaluating Whether a Postbiotic Chewable Tablet May Help Support Dental Plaque Control, Gum Health, and the Oral Microbiome in Healthy Adults Ages 18-65

This study involves a total of 5 in-clinic visits (located at Apex Trials and Hanlon Creek Dental in Guelph, ON) over approximately 8-10 weeks with a 2-week oral neglect period. Participants who complete the study in its entirety will receive up to $625 in compensation for their time, travel, and participation. Total compensation will be pro-rated
based on the visits you complete. Participation is voluntary.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether a postbiotic chewable tablet may help reduce dental plaque formation and support gum health and the balance of bacteria in the mouth in generally healthy adults.

You may be eligible if you:

Are between 18 and 65 years old

Have a BMI between 18.5 and 29.9 kg/m²

Are in generally good dental and oral health, and have at least 24 natural, non-prosthetic teeth

Are comfortable with dental and gum assessments

Are available for 5 in-clinic visits (located in Guelph, ON) over approximately 8–10 weeks

Postbiotic Oral Health Study

Participation will include:

5 in-clinic visits (located at Apex Trials and Hanlon Creek Dental in Guelph, ON) over approximately 8-10 weeks
Oral administration of one study product chewable tablet twice daily for approximately 6 weeks
Study diary and questionnaire completion
Dental and gum health assessments
Professional dental cleaning
Plaque and saliva sample collection at 4 of the 5 in-clinic visits
Urine pregnancy test (for individuals of childbearing potential) at 2 of the 5 in-clinic visits
Avoiding food and drinks for approximately 90 minutes prior to 4 of the 5 in-clinic visits
Following specific oral hygiene restrictions, including a 14-day oral neglect period*

*On designated oral neglect days (Days 14-28), participants must refrain from all routine oral hygiene procedures, including tooth brushing, flossing/interdental cleaning, mouthwash/oral rinses, and other plaque-removing practices.
